Why Children Homes?
The functioning of the traditional extended family system for care support for OVC is fast changing to closure. It has for long been a safety net for children left behind by dead parents. But modernization and the changing economic fortunes of extended family has made it difficult to sustain the said safety net that would otherwise provide affection, adequate shelter, nutrition, education and psychological support after the death of parents.
